The first-ever awardees of the Federal Transit Administration’s Climate Challenge have been chosen across eight categories for helping to lead the country’s transition to a clean energy future.
Metro says the new service will provide greater mobility for passengers in areas difficult to reach with ordinairy fixed-route buses.
Applications are strongly encouraged from Metro riders, transit advocates and community-based organisations from a diverse range of perspectives, to create the 15 member committee.
The new service uses algorithms to dynamically route shared vehicles to and from three busy Metro stations: Compton (Artesia), El Monte and North Hollywood.
