Session Details

Interactive session: Co-creation: How to involve stakeholders in the design of public transport services and supporting technologies

Date: 2 November 2018
Time: 15:10

Transport operators’ focus should be on the ability to use technology to find out customer needs. This session will focus on Wiener Linien’s ‘Rail Shock Recording’ – an approach for mobile applications which makes it possible to draw conclusions from passenger service applications to the track condition. While the customer is using a mobile app for passenger services (e.g. to buy a ticket or to plan a journey) the sensors in the mobile phone (accelerometer, gyroscope and GPS) records various measurement values (like the vibration to draw conclusions to the condition of the track). This approach helps to gain valuable information at little cost.
