Transport for Wales will open the Cardiff Bus Interchange in June, with services starting on 30 June 2024, and public preview days on 27, 28 and 29 June to showcase the new facilities.

Transport for Wales (TfW) has announced the grand opening of the Cardiff Bus Interchange, scheduled for June 2024. Bus services will commence from the state-of-the-art facility on 30 June 2024.

In anticipation of the launch, TfW will host public preview days on 27, 28 and 29 June. During these days, the public is invited to explore the new interchange and its modern amenities. This initiative aims to familiarise customers with the layout and services before they officially start operating.

The new interchange boasts 14 bus bays and will be a significant upgrade to the public transport network in Wales. Transport for Wales will operate the facility, which is expected to enhance the efficiency and connectivity of bus services across the region.

In order to assist the public during the familiarisation period, Customer Ambassadors will be present to provide detailed information about the services and address any queries or concerns.

TfW has collaborated closely with local bus operators to finalise the routes and services that will be available from the new interchange. These details are expected to be released shortly.

Marie Daly, Chief Customer and Culture Officer at TfW, expressed her enthusiasm about the upcoming, stating, “We’re pleased to be opening the new bus interchange next month and look forward to welcoming customers on the 27, 28, and 29 June to see the new facilities and learn about the new bus services. Further updates on the bus services that will run from the new facility will be confirmed soon.”

The development of the Cardiff Bus Interchange has been a joint effort between TfW, local bus operators, and Cardiff Council, ensuring a smooth and successful launch of the new transport hub.
